Biking

Sault Ste. Marie offers access to many amazing off-road locations for mountain biking. Challenge your cycling skills or just take in some scenery on two wheels. You can stay relatively close to town or head out for a day or two at many of the area’s great biking locations.

Bellevue Valley

The Bellevue Valley Trail system is located roughly 20 minutes north of Sault Ste. Marie. The trail begins with an arduous climb known as the “Energy Sponge”. This technically challenging section of single track travels along small streams, through dense mixed wood stands, and up into more open hardwood forest. Riders then climb a steep grade, challenging even the fittest mountain bikers, to the top of Bellevue Cliffs. From here the rider is treated to a spectacular view of Lake Superior.
