Deer Trail Driving Tour

This 120 km triangular route stretches around the community of Elliot Lake. The Deer Trail boasts some of the most beautiful, unspoiled landscapes in the north and hosts a variety of outdoor recreational activities year round.

Trans Canada Highway Sault to Wawa

Head north and follow the coastline of Lake Superior. Visit Batchewana Bay with its striking views of the lake and be sure to stop at the Agawa Indian Crafts & Canadian Carver near Pancake Bay. See cobblestone beaches, roadside sand dunes, rock formations and the Agawa Pictographs, located in Lake Superior Provincial Park.

St. Joseph Island

Head east from Sault Ste. Marie and discover scenic St. Joseph Island. The island is a world unto itself and on this tour you'll visit the communities of Richard’s Landing and Hilton Beach as well as historic Fort St. Joseph. You will find beaches, quaint restaurants and miles of scenic country roads as you criss-cross the Island, but don’t forget to drive a bit slower as deer are frequently seen traveling the same roads as you!
