Searchmont

As the only midwest ski resort actually located on a mountain, Searchmont is proud to say that they have the most diverse terrain, the longest runs (18 in total) and the greatest vertical (750 feet!) in the area. Located just one hours drive north of Sault Ste. Marie, this is the place to be if you like to ski.

Buttermilk Mountain Resort

In 2008, Buttermilk Mountain Resort, one of the area's smaller hills, unveiled the largest snowboarding super-pipe in the entire midwest.

The Heyden Ski Hill is perfect for the beginner or intermediate skier or snowboarder. The hill offers private or group programs available for adults and children interested in learning skiing or snowboarding. Heyden Ski Hill is also pleased to offer private hill rentals where the gates will be closed to the public and the lodge, lift, skis and snowboards are all at your disposal.
